Bring back house parties
So with new years coming just a few days away, and it being such an excellent excuse to drink, get high, have sex and meet new people all at once, I ask myself the question What am I doing for new years this year?
I have been invited to bars and clubs but I do that all the time. I have been invited to Boston and Newfoundland, but traveling around on new years is always hectic and expensive. Well, what about a house party? Id throw one, but too many of my friends are just not into it, so it would become a half-house party, or maybe even a quarter. What the fuck is up with that?! I remember the days of being in high school or CEGEP when all we did was have house parties, or drink in the park. And those house parties were AWESOME. Theyre so much better than clubs and bars. You meet people who you are more likely to get along with, the air is breathable, the drinks are cheaper, and you can come and go as you please and its not going to be so packed that you feel affectionately connected to everyone (although that can be interesting in the right setting).
I thereby declare 2006 to be the year of the house party. Of course, nothing will likely happen in my life to make any changes in this regard, but whenever an easily feasible opportunity comes up, house party it is.
Pre-happy new year, everyone!
