damn, that was alot of traveling. i've been gone on two back to back vacations and today is my first day back in florida in more than three weeks.
q: what's the easiest way to ruin a perfectly wonderful vacation?
a: invite your dad along.
my dad is the worst person in the world to travel with. the first four days of my trip to europe was just me and my mom, and we had a great time with no reservations or itinerary. we saw good museaums, went to awsome towns, ate incredible meals, and drank wine every night. then my dad meets up with us and in two days i want to stab him in the neck. in 4 days i start getting terrible stomach pains and two days later a splitting headache that lasts for two and a half days and leaves me bedridden for my two days in florence. how awful is that.
i'd relate my illnesses only indirectly to my father. i'd say it was directly related to me deciding no not voice any oppinions of my own in order to reduce conflict. what i've learnt about my dad is that he ends up getting his way even if we argue till i have a stroke. so i say nothing. but apparently all my oppinions just piled up in my stomach and began to ferment. so it' snot really his fault.
anyway. then i went to visit my girlfriend in st. louis. we had an incredible 10 days together and i'm really sad that i had to leave her yesterday. but i try to think about it in terms of now that this trip is over, it means only a few weeks until school starts again, and then i dont have to deal with my dad AND my baby lives down the hall from me. life doesn't get much better than that.
