On this day in 2011 I lost my first ever English Bulldog Oscar "Booger" Mecke. He was about 7 years old and I was his 4th and final owner. Our time together was short but extremely memorable, he developed skin cancer but was still full of life and always happy. It was 61 degrees which for the North East a warm new years day in 2011 and we had a great day outside playing. When I said goodnight to him and turned out the lights he let out a yelp as I walked up the stairs, I quickly ran to him and He seemed to have a heart attack. As I have seen with the few family member's that I have lost that were sick leading up to their death a burst of life enters their body, one final happy moment. This gives you one last happy memory that helps ease you or it can also give you a little bit of hope that maybe they might be turning the corner and getting healthy again. I was in a funk for a few months and then someone was putting a female brindle English bulldog up for adoption and I jumped on the opportunity to bring her home and make her a part of my family. Then another gift came into my life this summer a Male English bulldog entered my life so now I have two Moby a white and fawn colored almost 5 year old male and Roxie a Brindle 4 & 1/2 year old female. They have helped to fill the hole in my heart that was left on this day in 2011 with the passing of my "Booger". If you are looking for a dog check with your local shelters and or a Rescue the animals there were left and forgotten not given the opportunity to love. A dog is the only creature on this planet that loves you more then it loves it's self. Because of stupid humans I have been able to love and be loved by 3 English bulldog with a total value of $6000.00. Don't make breeders rich adopt and give a loving animal a forever home.
Oscar was a big old mush he would lay on the floor like in this picture and sahe a pillow with my son who at that time was 9 years old.
The reason I was able to get through my loss
Roxie and Moby's first professional photo together this summer. Roxie let a little pee out they didn't notice I did LoL.
Happy New Year everyone
