Have Since
Since my last update, in just nine days, many things have happened:
I have moved into my new place and pictures will accompany text to tell you more about that as the room shapes up.
My uncle Jon died. He worked for the County cutting down trees. A tree branch fell and hit him on the head, putting him into a coma. He would never wake up and last Friday his family decided to pull the plug as it were. We buried him with friends and family. Jon was a simple kind of guy, the kind of guy I'd like to be, and he went too soon. On a humorous note, every other car at his funeral was a big muddy pick-up truck, and the key-note eulogy given at his funeral had a story about raising hogs. That's the kind of people I spring from: pick-up truck driving hog farmers. And I think my Uncle Jon would have appreciated that.
I've started an expansive (yeah, right) record collection. Records are fucking cheap! I picked up three Blood, Sweat & Tears albums for under five bucks! I also picked up albums such as Kiss' Destroyer, George Harrison's All Things Must Pass and Frampton Comes Alive! I like the process of listening to records. It's not as petty as pushing 'play' on my iPod and it has a pleasing, scholarly appeal to it. Nothing beats walking out of a store with a pile of used records.
I need glasses, also. Any suggestions?
More to come.
