The New Weezer Album Isn't Awful Tribute Journal

You know when you listen to a band who used to be great? They might have been your favorite band for a time, a major band for you even. They could be like Weezer is to me. I knew every song, every note and cranny of the music. And then the Green Album... And then Maladroit...

And you think to yourself, these are the songs I'm supposed to know by heart?

Well, the new album isn't terrible. I don't even know about good or better than Maladroit or Green Album in everyway. But there's a couple of songs in sucession that sound just beautiful. It has Rivers seriously wailing along with some really soaring guitar parts. It's a really dense sound compared to their previous couple albums. There's steps in the right directions on this album, serious ones. And that's good enough for me for now.

Prom doesn't look as sure a thing as expected. A possibly cancelled date, no established place to live...not even a means of convience. It all adds up to a mighty load of work to be done. Fathers would have to be called. Plane tickets begged for AFTER a substantial check is negotiated. It would be a shame to miss out on meeting people such as CKLARock, Subrosa and others. A vicious fist fight with the beautiful Liger. Along with seeing BillHaverchuck again, it would be a shitty thing to turn down. Working magic takes time, so give a boy a couple days to see what he can cook up. He might be a capable, charming young man when the time comes.
