wow it been a bit eh? i guess it's been a busy few weeks. between Gala (which i showed up horribly late for due to my social anxienty (sp?) of being around people i don't know, much less in unfamilar surroundings), a few concerts (VNV Nation, Depeche Mode and Tool), (some Movies -Star Trek: awesome, G.I. Joe: not a bad as i was expcting, Transformers 2: kinda a let down), and the BIG news, I'm back to being gainfully (what a weird word that is. it seems like a word that's not a word that we all use) employed! Been back three weeks now, and i picked it up like i wasn't off three and a half months. and on a even more surprising note, looks like i might be seeing some overtime in the future, which will make all the people that i have bills to pay with happy.
okay time for a new paragraph. so funny story about my first day back. actually, this starts before then. while i was off i was working in the garden digging in my work boots. since they were muddy, i left them outide. and you all know the summer we been having, so they got drenched inside. i figured, okay why wear these gross, mildewy boots when i go back when i've got new ones? so i went back to work with brand new, unbroken in work boots. for those of you that have new broken in a pair of work boots, let me tell you, this was not one of ther smarter things i've done this year because

- i was not used to standing on my feet for 8 1/2 hours
- the boots hadn't formed to my feet yet
- the bottoms of new work boots tend to be hard, almost plastic-like, not soft rubber like running shoes, which makes them slippery at first. Add this to all the vast amounts oil, grease and other assorted lubricants on the shop floor equals a whole lot of watching your every step
needless to say, my feet werent too happy with me after that first day - then i decide to go out to the bar for karaoke and stand around for another 3 hours. bloody brillant aren't i?

...then again, you probably shouldn't have gone to karaoke afterwards. Let that be a lesson to you.
I'm very glad to read that you are once again gainfully employed, and I hope that I'll get to see you at the Fan Expo.
I'm hoping that the ball game will be an annual event, though, so there's always next year.
If you're going to be at the Fan Expo on Saturday, then quite a few of us will be treated to the spectacle of her chasing you around, haha.
