I read an article in my school paper yesterday the quotes a women's group saying that 20-25% of women will be raped at some point in their college career.
Is that number at all accurate? It seems incredibly high. Are they playing the same games with numbers that Baltimore City does to make statistics look low?
If it is accurate, it's pretty alarming. The implication of a number like that is there's a correspondingly high number of rapists. If you account for a larger number of males in college (though I'm guessing; I don't know if that is still true) and at least some of these being committed by a seriel rapist type...does that mean 10-15% (pulling those numbers as guesses out of my ass, of course) of the male population in college will commit rape during their college career?
