I have always had a deep passion for Russian History. When the history channel showed a 3 hour documentary on Russia and it's monarchs, I spent the entire 3 hours recording it and taking notes. Much fun was had, but thats because I am a huge nerd.
Now, this semester, I am taking a course at wku on the history of Russia. I was hoping to start with Tsar Ivan III, but instead the professor has chose to start with Tsar NicholasII, the last Tsar of Russia. I have always been a fan of Nicholass' but my professor doesn't like him and he potrays him, in his lectures, as a incompetent, unintelligent bafoon who runs to his mother, crying, when he doesn't get his way.
I have always viewed Nicholas as a man bullied by his father, Alexander III, a man who never wanted to be Tsar, a true family man who had to endure a paranoid nation who accused his wife, Alexandria, of being a German agent, and a concerned father who had a son, and heir to the imperial throne of the Romanovs, with hemophilia. Not to mention countless revolutionary and terrorist strikes against his nation and family. Plus a World War to fight.
