I am thankful for so much this year, there is the painfully obvious...my two guys: my wonderful husband of 10 years, my baby's daddy and my beautiful 6 1/2 week old son, the light of my life!
This is the first year since I was 16 years old (go ahead, check my age) that I will not be working retail this Holiday season, most notably the Day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday! Hot damn!!
My Big Box Retail electronics store is opening at 5am! I would have been expected to be working by 2am to prepare for the day. Last year I stayed at work the day before Thanksgiving from 8am to 11:30pm and the day after from 2:30am to 11:30pm...that's a holiday nightmare!!
How are retail employees supposed to enjoy their holiday under these conditions and demands??
PLEASE...do me a favor, if you are out shopping this holiday season, BE NICE TO RETAIL WORKERS!! It is a very hard job and people can be so nasty...remember the sacrifices that these people make to stay open late for you, keep shelves stocked, keep lines moving quickly, answer questions accurately and try and keep smiling through it all. Say thanks and smile at them, say "Merry Christmas" and remember that they have shopping lists and family, too!

Happy Turkey day.
