Went to Canberra for the weekend. it was fun i guess. that was the first time ive been since i turned 18, and i was really looking forward to having a fun couple of nights out.
friday was a quiet one, however. we rocked up at our friends house at about 8.30, and he took us (my sister and i) to some vikings club. the big one apparently. kinda boring, but i guess thats a club for you. live band- they were kool, and much alcohol later, -not for me, mind you. i was designated dave- we were home fairly early.
shopping the next day, and then to my cousins. for the actual reason we went, for her hens night.
salsa dance lessions in civic, accompanied by much champagne, a banquet dinner at a lovely resturant filled with more champagne and wine, and dancing at academy, which was just downstairs.
this is the part i was confused by. apparently, academy is canberras main dance place. and it was empty. not the best of music upstairs, but even worse down. so a few shots of vodka were in order to get the party going. those, and cocktails, rum and sambucca.
we were there for a number of hours, which was fine, we all started dancing eventually.
moving on to mooseheads. free flowing beer and joining with two other hens nights to party and dance. before the matron of honour got totally smashed that is.
good night, and after waiting for an hour for a taxi- yeah i dont get that either. no buses, no trains- we were home at around 4am.
canberra just isnt my plate of fun i guess. the girls are all coming to sydney for a weekend so we can show them a real party.
but til then, at least, i think ill be staying right here.
