I just finished the Nathalie & Yuval workshop, and it was...amazing. Im easily amazed, but I had so much fun and learned tons. Which, as I understand it, is the whole point. But as a reminder to myself, here are the top five things to work on:
1) Left hand placement. NOT on the shoulder, please! Shoulder and arm weight released, then just lift the hand.
2) Extend the time 'out' on swing-outs. Dont start coming in again until 2.
3) In Balboa, keep moving your feet. It seems obvious, but damn it if you get off of the 3 and 7
4) Barbie and (a very masculine) Ken. Frame, Frame, Frame
5) Slide and spin as if you are going to fall, just one degree less. Dont be afraid to fall. Dont be sad when you do, and your face is bruised and everyone laughed at you... Implement your slides and spins to learn timing. Perform them like cherries and whipped cream.
This probably makes no sense to anyone but me, but its a good remider of things to work on and things that happened this weekend.
Great classes, lots of laughs, and making a fool of yourself at least once. What more could you ask for?
