I was in Leeds today when all this was happening...

I've never seen anything quite like it. From what I saw it was the far right who caused the most trouble.. though I didn't see much trouble at all. Just saw the most police I've EVER seen in one place. We were blocked on 3 different routes trying to walk to the train station and my friend had to walk 40mins home cos the bus route was blocked by police.
Now I don't care for extremism of any kind, far right or far left, but it was interesting to witness such an event and be in a place with such an atmosphere of tention. I did see one drunken dickhead within feet of the train station entrance ask about 5 different police officers who were trying to maintain a perimeter where the train station was. They kept shouting at him to move away but he just kept asking where the train station was. They don't care what he wants they just want him to fuck off... it took a starnger the grab him and point him at the door or I reckon he'd have been taken to ground and arrested pretty sharpish after that.
I thought when I first arrived in town becuase there was a Leeds match on today, that it was a football thing. I continued to think that cos the facists (the ridiculously named English Defence League) were chanting Leeds Utd songs, then "England til I die". But I felt fucking physically sick when they started chanting "keep fags and pakis off our streets" or something to that effect. They all had they're faces covered with their fake burberry scarfs and for fucks sake, to enforce a sterotype even further were outside a frigging Yate's Wine Lodge.
Myself, if pushed to an extreme I'd go to the left. But I don't understand extreme anti-facism at all. Doesn't it negate itself when you start a riot against people who start riots?
Anyway, the nearest I came to any danger was being trampled by stampeding police through the train station. I managed to jump out the way though
Anyway, it's Halloween... and for yet ANOTHER year I've not got dressed up and gone out! Instead had a couple friend over and we watched the whole of Dead Set, the Evil Dead and Halloween. I'm now watching The Host cos I am too much of a pussy to watch Halloween 2 now my friends have gone home!!!
What did you guys get upto?
