Earlier I was trying to write a new entry in between black out flashes from this pc monitor. I'm in South Carolina in "my" room here at my parents house. Interestingly enough, I'm missing my bed...my room...my boyfriend.....
and it's this huge culture shock.....it's so sad.
I found it odd that a old white man and a young black couple were dining together today at lunch. And I think that's just because it's not something I was accustomed to seeing in Altus, OK. And the trees here are taller than the buildings, and I feel comfortably claustraphobic, and happy that I can't see what's beyond the trees. In Oklahoma, you know what's out there....a whole lot of fucking nothing. There's no reason for you to hope that there might be somethign around the bend, because there is no bend....there is a vast amount of empty space, except for the occasionally wichita "mountain." It could drive you mad to stare out into the nothingness...the lack of trees....the barron feeling southwestern oklahoma exudes if you weren't in fact from there, or haven't occupied that region for a great deal of your lifetime.
South Carolina is different I must say, and it's nice to have a change from what I am accustomed to. I would rather not live here either though. I think I'm going to drive out to the highway tommorow and take a picture of this billboard I saw......a hamburger with a mini confederate flag stuck in the middle on it. Crazyness indeed.
There aren't that many starbucks around which is disheartening. I once read in an elisabeth wurtzel novel that a true addict knows the exact location of all the starbucks within a fifty mile radius or somethin or another along those lines. That woman knows what she's talking about. I don't know if I could find my way around the town of columbia all that well (the capital of SC) but I sure as hell could find that starbucks. Every time me and my mother go there (much shopping has been done as of late) she takes me there and I get a grande two percent no whip mocha and I feel whole again.
oh wait there are things I'm not missing....
getting up really fucking early on tuesdays and thursdays for work......and that damn bird my sister and her boyfriend has, pollo....what a fucking annoying creature. I'm going to kill it some day. just rip its fucking head RIGHT OFF.
yea that's right I said it. Face that cares?
I'm hating my profile picture muchly but can't do anythign about it because i'm a lazy fuck right now.
tommorow i'm taking pictures. that's it!
oh and i have to go to some gay christmas party with my parents. but i love them so i'll go anyway. maybe it won't be too gay.
