What did everyone get for Christmas?
As some of you might know, my family doesn't officially celebrate Christmas so I didn't get anything from them except for Destroy All Humans 2, but that in itself is a cool enough gift for me. Steve also surprised me with a bouquet of roses, "Cars" and "Neverwinter Nights 2". I am excited, especially for the latter. If anyone here is a geek and plays NWN 2, we should party up sometime and kill shit.
I came back to Philly for New Years, which means I got to spend it with Steve (yay!) Steve, myself and group of people (I will leave names unmentioned since no one here knows them anyway) played the game Apples to Apples. Has anyone played it before? The principle behind it is really simple yet really fun. Someone lays down a card that has a word on it, and everyone else has cards that have people, things or events on them, and each person has to lay down a card that they think best matches the description of the first card. The person who laid down the first card judges which one of the cards laid by the other players matches the word the best. It seems like most people go with the opposite of whatever the word is. For example, the judge in our group had a word like "generous" or something like that, and I laid down "Darth Vader"...which, totally won. Anyway, yes, FUCKING PLAY APPLES TO APPLES.
One more thing: Pistolita Suicide is battling cancer right now and it would mean a lot to her and to me if you bought a calendar or a print to help her with the medical costs. Please see her SG page for details. Thanks guys!

During this time, I suffered a number of crises, though the various magnitudes of such never really amounted to anything really worthy of the word 'crisis.' They were quite small. But I did a lot of self-examination, and re-organization, watched my mother get sicker and sicker, let myself fall in love again, worked on my music, my art, and my social intelligence. Not to mention I got really fucking awesome at Guitar Hero.
All for the better?
I can only hope. I can only hope that I came, that I am coming, that I will come out of this a better person.
One of the decisions I came to during this time was to close my account here.
I originally came here, actually, because this account was a sort-of gift for my at-the-time ladyfriend, the one I had as my profile pic since the beginning. She'd come over and we'd look at sets and comment on them together, and all was well. As we drifted apart, I came to use it more, and eventually she stopped coming over, and I stopped coming on. This has been almost a 2-years-going process, and it was just time for me to let it go. This place (through no fault of you or any of the other girls or members here, of course) has become a corpse, a festering memory of that relationship, and it just had to go. I needed to move on, and this is just one little part of it.
During that time you had been something of a far-off lighthouse out upon a misty shore, naught more than a tiny, dare I say teeny, little blinking light amidst the indigo curtains of vapor. Now, I am not verily one to get lost at sea, but goddamn, if I ever fancied myself a salted sea captain, I could always count on that beacon. Thanks for, though what little you may think you have done, being something among a small group of other somethings that could stand as stability in the storm.
Though this small side of me is, for lack of a better word, dying, the rest of me is still shining and polished as ever, so if you ever want to keep in contact, perhaps get a taste of my shorter-winded forms of parlance, there are about 374 ways to get in touch with me. rivaldi22[at]gmail[dot]com can be your road map. But I will leave that choice up to you, out of respect for your privacy, and for your busy schedule.
I came here for love;
I stayed for people like you;
and now, I am leaving for me.
You've been wonderful. I love you. Good luck with everything. Good-bye.
