So I arrived in Barcelona on Sunday afternoon, took the aerobus to the city and then walked from Plaza Catalunya to my hotel in the old centre (should I say Gothic?), 2 minutes away from La Rambla. I was just in time to go out with my camera, it gets dark at 6 and there's a lot to see. Monday morning the conference would kick off with a plenary introduction which I decided to skip in favor of a visit to the Sagrada Famiglia. I went there before 8 in the morning to see the the sun rise above the houses and catch the first rays of sunlight. Unfortunately it was rather cloudy at that time of the day, I was already on my way to the next destination when the clouds gave way to the sun. The bastard!
I'll skip the conference details, but I got some great ideas for new websites and fancy features I would like to build in.
Today, after I returned to the hotel I changed clothes and packed my camera for another city tour. I made some twilight shots which looked quite OK on the camera display, but I will evaluate all pics during the weekend when I'm back home. It's a magnificent place and it's tempting to skip the remainder of the conference! Not only to take pictures, but I saw some great things to buy and all these restaurants and delikatessen stores can not be ignored!
Great, yesterday morning they were shooting movie footage on La Rambla (for a feature called Biutiful).
That's it for now, folks. To be continued (or not).
PS. I read Rokko was in Barcelona this weekend, but she left the day before I arrived, so I just missed her.
