I was recently looking through some old notebooks and discovered quite a few finished and unfinished poems/song lyrics that I have written. Since I'm bored, I'll post them! One of them I've already posted in an older entry (Dec 3). I will also label them as older/newer (O/N) and unfinished/finished (U/F).

Poems:

BLUE EYES (O/F)
Your eyes;
Like the blue of a jay,
Nay, like the blue of the skies.
A morning glory pool of passion;
A depth to cause my soul's destruction.
So old, yet oh! so young.
The color of the unseen flames of the sun!


A PATH TO ME (O/F)
Through swaying sea and rolling hills,
Over mountain peaks; with abundant will
You trudge passed towns with haunted streets;
No buildings high for the world to see.

A magic light burns for your eyes -
The guiding stars, splashed across the skies.
The glowing moon on Night-Sky's breast.
Please do not linger or succumb to rest.

Please hurry, my love, for I am too weary to wait.
So hasten your pace; do not surrender to fate.
I will flatten your path and dry up the streams -
Pause rotation of Earth - if it would lead you to me.


NO LONGER YOURS (N/F)
you see him there
(lying pale)
a broken dream
- protection failed

what do you do?
(oh, bitter heart)
when love is gone
- now torn apart

to take your hand
(no, leave it be)
i have no right
- doesn't belong to me

i slump defeated
(close the doors)
watching a love
- no longer yours

return to lies
(beneath lay truth)
settle for less
- there's naught to do

be there for him
(you'll be the last)
when all has gone
- has been... has passed

your patience tried
(anger to ignite)
seeing someone else
- their hold, so tight

just get him through
(then separate)
move on with life
- leave love to fate

And as you watch
(through tears you pour)
reluctant in knowing
- he's no longer yours


OF THE RAREST KIND (O/F)
I awake to your abounding beauty
A kind beauty - ethereal and majestic.
My fingers dance, lightly, about your skin,
As if evoking some unknown magic.

You stir, so I pause;
Not ready for bout of conscious.
You settle, to my delight,
And at once relay my past touches.

I trace an invisible mosaic,
A song, a story, a poem, a painting -
My alabaster work of art.
No museum would do right in taking
My soul's art.

Fingers hesitate as they reach two lips -
Two plush and rosy petals.
They murmur a soft little sigh - I move on
To the column of white marble where I do feel a pulse,
Slow and fluttering in rest.

I take peace in knowing you breathe.
You are warm - alive - in my arms.
I feel the soul of your slumber;
My body melts willingly to your charms.

I lay my head upon your breast -
Take in the satisfaction of life.
And under my cheek, a melodic tenor rumble,
(One to lift you, be it any strife):

"Your study has aroused my passion,
It sings for your tender care."
His candy-apple lips dance with mine.
And I think... I know -
Like an alignment of the stars -
A love like this is, truly, rare.


I'VE SEEN THE NIGHT (N/F - posted on Dec.3)
I've seen the night with tears of old
Of starry skies and bitter cold.
The waking sun doth peak his head,
Night pulls him down - now gold is dead.

A sneaking calm with arms of steel;
Shattering black and blue (break souls' appeal).
May Jasmine bloom (death flower grows)
As seeping dark chokes the rose.

O'er midnight falls and rolling hills,
Through dewey grass and frost that kills.
A shadow, a ghost, a rolling smog,
The cloudy mass - mind numbing fog.

And there through dark, on window taps
An inky vision knowing fate - who laughs.
White moon reflects the silhouette.
My heart has slowed to pause
-an entrance to death.

I've seen the night with tears of old
Through coal-like eyes - taken life ahold.
The waking sun doth peak his head,
Nights pulls away... now I am dead.

MY OWN CONSCIENCE (N/F)
Gone - I will not follow
Bleed - I will not cry
Strong - Live on tomorrow
See - I cannot lie

Where is my own conscience?
My heart has now fallen
I feel the energy push its way through
What have I mistaken?
And now I must dream on
So right, cannot be wrong
Living lies of someone else's truth
Make me strong - it won't be you

Call - It falls on deaf ears
Wake - Bright lights bring pain
Crawl - Knees bleed for years
Blade - It splits my shame

This life, this game, won't be the same
My mind has gone; won't struggle on
A different way to ease the pain
No relief, no time, to ease my life.




UTOPIAN (O/F)
I take a step and fly away
The sky is meeting me
Night has paled; dawns here to stay
But I am gone from thee

Awake my love; dont fear the sun
Remember Im still with you
Keep that thought youll never go wrong
The night is always true

Stars will burn our loves life flame
Night will hide our human shame
But dawn will come and all is gone
The sun ignites but dreams go on

Clouds are left to comfort us
Their billowy depths - my home
Your face upturned to air above
You know youre not alone

Horizons have changed
Now mid-days gone
Our time has come to move along
In space the vacuums pulled me through
Eternitys come
Now I must leave you
