I was on Guitargeeks blog and saw that you're looking [ getting? ] an older
Triumph. Permatex can cure those oil leaks. Of course the old joke
about Harleys and Triumphs was: if it stopped leaking it was time to add
oil. Learning to set the points and valve lash isn't that difficult.
I got a sweet deal on my Triumph-America, a left over 2007. You should be
able to get a deal on any left overs. They had a '07 Bonny for $6500.

I also saw your comment in GG's blog. I've got one of the newer triumphs, the Thruxton, as well as a 73 Norton. I was going to recommend you take a look at a Kawasaki W650. they haven't made them for five or seven years but they were 100x more authentic a copy of the old brits (basically a bonneville clone in appearances) than the newer Triumphs like mine. They've got a kicker and everything. If I had it to do over I'd probably get one of those used instead of my Thruxton. The Norton has been nothing but trouble. If it were my only non-essential bike I could deal with wrenching to keep it on the road, but as it is i've got too many projects to spend so much time so often on it...

One good thing about the triumphs is that there's so many of them around. Tons of aftermarket stuff available.

but if you want my real advice, just re-read GG's post. If I had room for another bike It's be a Z1. If you're interested in a cafe'd 73 Norton commando you can buy mine & I'll get the z1!
