Friends! Who are they? Really!
I have, or maybe had, someone who I considered a good friend for many years! We were in the Marine Corp together, went through hell together, and went out and enjoyed good times together. We could always count on each other for support! (or so I thought) Havent seen him for quite some time now... I've called him several times now for the past couple years, but he always seems to be to busy to just meet to knock a couple back and catch up on life. Well, today I called to check on how life's been treating him? So he finally had the ball's to tell me that his wife does not approve of him hanging with me!? It appears she thinks I'm bad influence on him, (they've been married for about five years now, I've known him for thirty) Anyway, she thinks that because I'm Divorced and single, keep him out till the wee hours of the morning when he hangs with me, I'm bad for their marriage! Yes, whenever we hung together we did stay out till the crack of dawn, but I never twisted his arm, I know he has a wife and kid! Hell, we probobly got together maybe 3 or 4 times a year if that! But now I have'nt seen him for over 3 years. Don't get me wrong, I have many other friends, but I just thought that it was chicken shit of him as a friend, and her to feel this way about me when she never even tried to get to know me. She only met me a couplke times before they got married! And truth be told, I wasn't even invited to the wedding! But me? I'm a friend till the end baby! Wished him the best of life and happiness, and, when he needs a friend he can depend on... I got his back!
