I woke up last night at 3:30. I then realized that my right wrist hurt. I then felt an odd creeping on my left hand. I felt, squished and heard an exoskelaton crack. After turning on the light I found a pair of small pucture wounds on my right hand. I was perturbed. Not one bite- two. 1/16 of an inch apart. I imediatly suspected spider bite. i don't know why, as I've never been bitten by a spider or seen a spider bite, but I coundn't think of other insects that would leave such a mark, When I came to my senses and looked for what I had crushed it was a yellowjacket. What was a yellowjacket doing in my bedroom? In the middle of the night? Biting me with two distinct fang like things and not stinging me. wierd. Do yellowjackets bite like that? I think that they are actually wasps not bees, but I never knew they bit. so wierd. I couldn't get back to sleep and read until 6 then woke up at 11, many hours late for work. Instead of adjusting for daylight savings I've gone the other way. I've been at least an hour late for my regular job for the past few weeks. Mabe I just hate it.

yellowjackets get into my house sometimes too, they really can come in anywhere--through the air, or maybe just a crack in the structure of the house or building.
good thing you killed it though, I've hit them before without killing them, and it just pisses them off more...
