Last night I got drunk and painted at a friend's house until four in the morning. I also saw Pinback. It's unnerving to experience, first hand, how loyal the band's fanbase is. The crew was futzing around with the sound for almost an hour and everyone just stood there, patiently, arms crossed and sexy hipster glares set to STUN. No one jostled past to get a beer, or a cigarette, or go to the bathroom.
Anyway, the adventures of last night made me too tired to go to an ex-coworker's party tonight. I = super flake.
I signed up to go to a QPOC (queer people of color) conference on Sunday. I feel vaguely uncomfortable about it. I don't know what to identify myself as. There's so much emphasis in the queer community to figure out your identity and state it. On the whole I think this is a good thing. It raises awareness, polarizes and politicizes, and allows a venue for expression. In my case, though, it exacerbates issues of shame and confusion.
My SIGNIFICANT OTHER is taking the GRE tomorrow. Everyone focus your psychic powers on his ability to score a 1600, kick ass, and get into only the coolest of cool graduate schools.
I found out my favorite coworker may be leaving soon. Bah. Life sucks. And this post is scattered.
But that's why I love it.

hellbilly:
I probably would have been the only person jostling at that show. If only to irritate the hipsters.
