Geez this homework since I started last week has been a piece of cake ! Probably because it's things that are right up my alley huh ?
My favorite artist and why.
Well the core of that answer goes to edvard munch. Who many recognize his super famous painting the scream.
To me he started my love for art. I saw the scream many times as a kid and when I was 9 I begged my mother for a copy of it to hang in my room. Though she found a bit odd she was really happy to see me enjoying art. I've been painting and drawing ever since I could remember and always attended art classes since I was a child. Edvard munch also inspired me because he had bad eye sight and actually preferred to see the world blurry because it was beautiful to him. Personally i like my corrected vision but I found it very inspiring and I love many of his paintings besides the scream.
My next favorite artist is Paul booth. He is a super famous tattoo artist as well as painter and luckily I've gotten to meet him several times and hung out with him and his friends at several of his private parties. The dude is a huge inspiration for my future of wanting to be a black and grey dark art tattooist. His catholic school upbringing is something I can totally relate to as well as his questioning religion. Though I am very spiritual and practicing Buddhism I do share many of his ideals.
Another artist I am falling and love with and just previously posted is Jed leiknes. I happily own one of his paintings and constantly am searching for some more of his work. He also is part of the dark art movement and displays such vibrant colors and an almost fluid look to his art.
And honestly I can go on for days about this subject but I'll keep it short and sweet. These people inspire me everyday to keep on chasing my goal of becoming a great tattoo artist and selling my paintings. They push me to strive to achieve the beauty of horror and realism.
