Last night I just bought, (paid $25), and downloaded a copy of acoustica, the CD ripper, at acoustica.com and once installed, seems to work very well at mixing CD selections into one albumn. The install wasn't without problems though. It seemed to be missing a dll named riched32.dll. So I googled for it, found a site where I could download a copy, put it in the windows system directory and that corrected the problem. Isn't Windows 98 wonderful
I'm using the software to rip a particular track of a cd albumn to put in a powerpoint 3D slide presentation to be show Tuesday evening at our photo center. Our club's digital geek offered to help me out on this, since he's the one with the two digital projectors and wants to see club members get in volved in this, so I Took my powerpoint presentation over to his house via flash drive, since my CD burner seems to be upchucking constantly. All it manages to do is waste CD's. Must need cleaning or something. So we sent a sound track to my slide show. Since most of my slides were of old cars and stuff, I choose an oldie by Marty Robbins called "A White Sport Coat" It gave it a nostalgic ring to the slide show. Hope it goes over OK.
That's about it from Lake Wobegon. Where all horses are fast, all women are young, all whiskey, old and money is... well... there never can be enough of that, right?
