i've been facing my faults, actually FACING them, for the past two years of my life. and i think i do what i can to fix them or maybe even completely get rid of them. at least some of them. i am by no means faultless!!
my pet peeve is those people out there who refuse to take a look at their faults, confront them, and fix them. they go their lives thinking "like me for the way i am now, dammit. because i never plan to improve myself." oh really? you're not perfect. you've got things to work on, too. we all do.
the best people to see these faults are your friends. they see you from a third-person-perspective. they see every aspect of you that you cannot. so when a friend offers you constructive criticism about yourself, be grateful. i know i've been grateful when people have pointed out things about myself that i didn't even know existed. well.... that's not all true, it took me a while to mature enough and take it as an adult instead of getting all bent out of shape over it. eventually i learned a valuable lesson: stop denying your faults. face up to them. when people point some out to you that you didn't even know existed, be glad! now you can improve upon that! even if you think you do not have said fault, you probably do. no one knows you better than other people. not even yourself.
