I find myself liking math!
haha.....something I only admit
when I understand what I'm doing.
Changing base numbers is easy.
Will I even need this?
I doubt children, aged 1 - 4,
will even know how to count to 100
let alone change a base 10 system
to base 2 or 3 or 4...
Ah, but!
Don't forget: children are smarter
than we give them credit to be.
And I don't doubt
little Tommy or Mary Jo
will someday teach me more
than I could ever teach them.
What open minds, like fields of daisies...
What bright, new eyes like the sky...
waiting for me to leave an impression!
It would almost be daunting
if it weren't so beautiful...
(spontaneously written 9/18/02 while waiting for miss tatum to get done with her teacher conference. i looked through my notebook at my math problems and realized....wow....at least right now, i'm actually enjoying math....and it went on from there :-) )
