Today I discovered the seafood district in Washington D.C. Whoo-hoo!! I have lived near DC most of my life & I cannot believe that I never saw what was right under my nose. I love seafood...crabs, oysters, shrimp, mussels, snapper...I love it all! I saw all of that, & more today. Ramshackle long stalls, piled high with ice & the fresh catch from the Bay. The smell of the fresh fish, steaming corn, a faint odor of garbage & sweat, all mingled in with the breeze that blows by. It might not sound as good as it was, but it was fantastic, trust! No pretense, just fresh food. I ate giant crab legs, dripping with vinegar or lemon or old bay or a combination of the three...sooo delicious!! (I am salivating as I type this
) I wanted to try some of everything, but I contented myself with the monstrous crab legs & half a dozen hand-sized oysters. Hand-sized! Sucking them straight out of their shell with just a little bit of lemon juice is soo gooooooood. The taste of sweet & salty, mixing together, as the oyster slides down my throat. Yummies!! I cannot wait to go back to see how many more ways I can tantalize my tastebuds! Maybe I'll see you there. ![biggrin](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/biggrin.b730b6165809.gif)
