I am going to wear something simple, slacks and a nice shirt. I don't think I am going to spend money on a tux and not wear it again.

Depends on what you feel like dressing up as, you could shop at Hot Topic and go a little rebellious, probably look like everyone else there. You could wear a nice slinky dress and impress everyone.
