This picture sums up our whole situation. When I saw it, it was screaming out to be posted here in my journal.
Where do we go from here. Its official: No weapons of mass destruction were found. Iraq was never tied to any terrorist organizations, there is no evidence. Many have died on both sides ranging from the low thousands to the tens of thousands. Many more will die. What if someone came to your house and accused you of attacking them when you never did. They beat you up for days on end in your own home. Then they left, leaving you in a pool of blood, barely alive and your door is open for theives to come in and loot and tear up your house. Would you want compensation for what happened? Would you want justice? I know here in the states, that's when you call the proper authorities and have them arrested and the Judicial System prosecutes them for their crime. But in our situation I don't hear anything. I hear a murmur of hesitation and fear maybe? What. But no sirens, no justice, no public explanations are coming forward. The official publication anouncing that there were no WMD was quitely tucked away on page A6 or even deeper on almost all local newspapers. Why? I wake up and a lot of the time I look at my hands and see blood. This is the truth. I used to be proud of my nation, now I'm ashamed. Those who drove us to this "war" of chasing and fighting shadows with shadowed accusations and papers don't know shame, shame is some elses problem, thats what they implied by pointing to other departments of the government. They're really good at pointing fingers. Now word on the air is that we're going to Iran. Claims of covert ops are have said to have been well underway since last summer in Iran by black project teams. Iran is being prepped. Bases are quickly being built in Iraq for the coming battles in the Middle East. But I still don't hear any sirens. I still have blood on my hands as do we all have blood on our hands and it not washing off so easily. I just want to say sorry to all those innocents who died and shame on you to those who drove the innocent to war without just cause. To every action there is a reaction and justice isn't so blind as to over look those War Hawks and Crazies in our institutions of National Government.
I'm sorry, I'm so sorry I'm even part of this as a US citizen.
