Ok. So the weekend didn't quite turn out like I had originally intended.
Late last week I got a call from the Opera House informing me that Mr Tarantino had cancelled (or was it postponed?) his visit to Australia - and there would be no Popcorn Taxi Q&A on Sunday.
Friday morning I got a call from a friend letting me know that the 5,6,7,8's had sold out at the Annandale (in "record time" according to the website). Instead, we ended up seeing Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind again, thanks to some free passes.
Thankfully on Saturday things started looking up. Saturday night was amazing. Theredsunband managed to sell out the Hopetoun, which was a surprise but, thankfully, all of my friends had managed to make it there before it was too late. Bridie and Kate turned up literally as they were posting the sign, but the girl on the door must have been in a good mood. The set was fanstastic (though, it seemed incredibly short) - which is no small feat, being that they had driven back to Sydney from Brisbane and arrived only a few hours before the show. From the Hopetoun, it was a (not so) quick walk to the Metro for Cut&Paste the lastest in a seemingly endless stream of Chris Wu organised Indi-rock dance parties.
And more good news. They have announced a second show for the 5,6,7,8's on Tuesday night- to which mere moments ago I just purchased 3 tickets - so there will be missing out this time!!
Album of the Day: Cat Power - What Would the Community Think
Quote of the Day: I could catch a monkey. If I was starving I could. Id make poison darts out of the poison of the deadly frogs. One milligram of that poison can kill a monkey. Or a man. Prick yourself and youd be dead within a day. Or longer. Different frogs, different times.

But Jibaili's organising something for the near future -- hope to catch you there if and when it happens.
