Well I just placed an order for a new laptop!

Mine is five years old and is not that bad really as it was top of the line back in the day. But now there are things that it just started staying behind like not having USB2.0 so I can't get a decent external HD. Also I need better graphics (higher resolution). And it is not very portable. And the battery gives me about a third of what it used to....

I know I can get around life without a new one but if I was going to buy one it had to be when I had a good deal in front of me. Again top of the line and for almost half of what this old one cost 5 years ago!

So this faithful laptop will be my home server. It runs Ubuntu pretty well so I can continue to do so plus I can experiment.

I'm happy. I like changes and new things (not as in brand new but as in "something that wasnt there before but now it is" new). So now I don't need to change my job, my girlfriend or the city .. for now :-)
