September 11th of 2001 I was in bed with my ex-girlfriend sleeping that morning and then my roomate banged on my door really loud and told us the news. So we woke up and watched the news for a few hours, and then I went to class.
I was already signed up to go off to the army that next summer. I could have still backed out. But when the time came I asked myself what kind of person would I be if I did. So I went to basic training and all.
I was deployed to Iraq for 15 months, and experienced what it takes to uphold our freedom. I tell you what Freedom is not Free. I did not agree with the move into Iraq one bit but I did agree with us going into Afghansitan. Well I saw people see the end of war and "only the dead see the end of war." I have a lot to be thankful for and I have a new perspective. There are things I will never forget and there are things that still haunt my soul.
The biggest thing to remember to do is take a moment to honor the people that died that day.
But I still keep on rockin' and my Team is 3-0. Life is good if you if you keep on keeping on.
