i wanted to do this a month ago but couldnt get through it. and even now its tough. but here goes...a month ago i was sitting at work getting a few things done. i noticed i missed a call on my phone when i walked back to the office. i listened to the voice mail that my father left me. it sounded cold and i knew something was wrong. i first thought a no....my grandfather passed away. his health has been in decline the last few years and i thought his time had come. but no. when i called back he told me that his brother tim had died that early morning at 3 am. a single car wreck in the bad rain storm. he slipped of a curve and hit a tree with his corvette. he fought for a few hours in the hospital but the injuries were to much. i sat down and cried. he was only 44 years old. the baby of 11 kids. a cop for almost 20 years. had a great family with 4 children. he was a great man. and great uncle. in the last few years i didnt get to see him much which saddens me. goodbye tim. we all love you very much.
now that iv gotten that out. i wanted to say this...
pls...when i walked out of work that day at 830 and drove to CT to see my grieving family i was given a few looks. i was very upset and had a fairly long walk to my care in the parking lot. i work at a resort. and on this long walk i passed a few people. all they did is look at me funny. kind of a "whats his problem look."
i ask you...if you see someone hurting bad...like i was...talk to them. dont shun them...you will get a great story and help them more than you know. i would tell you that tim was the one who got me into investigation work and gave me a life lesson when i was very young i will never forget. and thats there is humor in everything...and laughing will help you heal. he was a great artist and photographer...if you ask someone when they are down...take ten mins out of your busy day just to say "hello...how are you." try it next time... it will be life changing...
thanks for you time....
