I got an iPod Shuffle on Saturday and it has significantly improved my Monday. I filled it up with my favorite Chicago-area bands from when I was a wee lass and have been listening to various Slapstick family tree bands, among others. It totally puts a smile on my face.

Edited to add that I've got the best New Year's plans for Chicago, if things work out.
