So I took over a Kinky Arts Meetup group about two months go. And I’ve been TRYING to figure out how to make stuff happen without having to shoulder MOST of the cost myself. And this last week I launched the first session, on posing and communicating with models.
It went REALLY well, aside from the fact that none of them listened to what I originally had planned. I wanted to do a session where we talked about poses, how to talk to models to get them to DO those poses in an easy to understand way and THEN I wanted them to do one on one, one model with one photographer and the rest of the photogs to sit and watch so we could discuss what the photographer did well and what he/she could work on. Well... they took it as a free for all (I FUCKING HATE THAT!!)
Overall it did great, I’ve got a bunch of people who want to do the next one. AND, the model wants to be a SG Hopeful so... we’ll see what happens with her.
I’ve got a bodyscapes class scheduled for December so we’ll see about that too. I want to schedule out one half hour for each photographer only the two of us and the model on set. We’ll see how that goes and we’ll see how well received it is. Wish me luck!!
