Anyone who follows "national news" or in my case, state news...has anyone been following the Steubenville rape case?
Now, all media is fucking biased. Regardless of who is posting it/broadcasting it. "Inserting fingers into a vagina is constituted as rape in Ohio, if the victim is unwilling". Well fucking durrrrrrr right? Anyone with half a brain can figure that out.
Now, the girl is 16. The boys are 16 and 17. Since there is no "video evidence" (even if there was, I doubt anyone would want to see it) one has to assume she really was unwilling. Well, incapacitated to say the least. Disclaimer: I am in no way pushing the blame onto the female, in fact, I feel completely terrible for her and if things unfolded as said by most people, the boys deserved exactly what they got.
I don't really understand why people are pushing the fact for people to feel sorry for the boys in this situation. I understand that most people don't see fingering someone as raping someone...but those people are sorely mistaken.
Who gets blamed in this situation? Ummmm...not just the boys themselves. The community, the school, and the parents. These kids were football players, and growing up in Ohio I realize high school sports sometimes mean wayyyyyyy more to parents than they really should. I suppose this could kind of make a child feel as though they are somewhat infallible...or invincible. Being an athlete through most of my life, I do realize it makes you somehow "holier than thou", at least in some faculties eyes, but there comes a point where morals/upbringing take over regardless. A moral compass is something essential to living, and should be instilled in all children. I do realize there are parents out there who don't have said compass themselves, but they aren't really fit to raise children anyways...but I digress because that's a whole other can of worms.
I just can't see how the whole US is painting these kids, and I say kids because they are kids...as monsters. It's not just them, it's the whole upbringing they suffered through. Now, I do realize that free will exists and their actions are completely on them...but at what point does blame fall on community/parents/schools as well as the kids themselves? Steubenville is a tiny town in comparison to most "small town America".
Bored/Unentertained rant after read a Henry Rollins blog about said case after following it for months. If people want to argue that said girl was at fault, hit me with it. It's funny that they had 20+ witnesses come forward, but yet nothing is published online. Muy interesante. Me thinks.

This is my subconscious running because of my Mom's death, and maybe I'm more susceptible because I'm run down and under the weather anyway, but I'd rather see my best friends and deal with my life than not.
Shouldn't have been two days of it, the "stress" would have been over. We will see what tonight brings. I feel fine now, but this stuff builds for hours upon hours it seems.
I do need this type of stuff in a way too, to get a move on with my life, negative to a positive.
I think Jen is coming in anyway and we are just going to play it by ear. It's not "social", just physical.
It could be worse, I'll just try to fight through this shit like I did before and if it persists after the first, then I'll jump on that new med I told you about and see if that helps.
