Listening to some super-chill detroit electronica. A liitle compilation I picked up at a local record shop. My store doesn't carry some of the shit I really like. The comp is called IDOL TRYOUTS. It's on Ghostly International records. Debrye is one of the artists, he has an experimental instrumental mellow hip-hop flavor to his cuts. I like it. Also picked up a compilation on ~scape records. The artists on that label have a distinctive minimalistic sound to there music. It's electronica.
I had a good Christmas. I think i spent a liitle too much but that's o.k. Everyone deserved the gifts that I gave them. I recieved some pretty groovy stuff as well. I got some great reading material. A book by David Sedaris, and a book of letters by Van Gogh written to his brother. They transpire over his life and reveal the development of his insanity. I'm very facinated by people going insane. I don't know why. Like Jack Kerouac's 'Big Sur'. That book is intense. He's alone by the ocean and slowly going mad. I sometimes feel as though I am going mad. It's like my brain takes over with all these intense, yet unrealistic thoughts or emotions. The only thing I want to do is stop thinking. But of course I can't. I usually go to sleep and then I alright when I wake up. These things come in waves. Sometimes It doesn't happen for months. Then It'll happen a few times within a few weeks. Who knows...
I went to a great Christmas party and threw down some soul music for everyone to enjoy. I ran into an ex-girlfriend of mine I hadn't seen in 2 years. We didn't leave on bad terms really, we just both had shit going on in our own worlds. It was good to see her and I think we'll hang out soon. I don't know if that's a bad idea, though. She's pretty tasty.
OH! If any of you are talking heads fans, pick up their box set. It just came out. It has 3 cds and a dvd. Very well put together. Great music, their videos, a buch of artwork. Very impressive.
Well, im going to lay down now. My body needs a little recharging. I'm going to watch the movie "Eye of the Needle' with Donald Sutherland. I just watched 'Frida' last night. A beautiful film. I recommend.
Be cool everyone.

The Talking Heads should tour with the regenerized Al Green with !!! (Chk, Chk, Chk) opening up. That would be utterly fantastic in every way.

Yeah, I really don't know why they haven't got back together at least for a few shows. You know how many people that would make happy? It's better to burn out... they say...
