I was there in August 2001. Spent about a week and a half in Sydney with a side trip into the Blue Mountains, and a week in Hobart with a trip to Port Arthur. I loved it all, but especially Tasmania. People there kept apologizing for the weather... but it's just about the same distance from the equator as Oregon, where I've lived most of my life, so I felt right at home.
Didn't see Brisbane, sadly... but I'm definitely coming back when I get the money... and next time I'll hit the NE corner of the country.
