Bet you guys thought I was going to forget again! Nope not this time...but it was close haha.
What is a random start? It's a blog idea I stole where you put your itunes/whatever on shuffle then post and discuss the first song that comes up...no matter what.
This week's song:
Poison the Well -Grain of Salt (What's The Use of Having a Heart)
Poison the Well was one of my favorite Post-Hardcore/Screamo/Whatever you want to call them bands in High School. This song is off their first record Distance Makes the Heart Grow Fonder but I never heard it until a few years ago. In High School The Opposite of December was the Poison the Well album I had on constant rotation. This song shows the rawness of the band and hits at the great stuff they would put out later on as they grew as a band and with better quality production. The backing vocals of the chorus kinda throw me off. I don't feel like the sung lyrics fit there, or at least not this particular voice.
Let me know what you think.
