This @bloghomework is a tough one. Why? Cause I LOVE FOOD! I would eat all day if I could. I enjoy few things more than discovering/trying new foods. I found this when searching for homer drooling. It certainly fits the homework theme and SG in general (in a non creepy way <_< >_>)
Some of these dishes I will give the name and restaurant so if you ever happen to be in that area you can try them out. No pictures for them just the best I can describe them.
I would go all out, I would eat all the favorites I could think of, even if it was 30+ separate dishes. Like I said I love food!
Camarones Christina - Rosamarillo Indio, CA
Shrimp and Chipotle wrapped in bacon served with Pablano Rice and Black beans. How can you go wrong with bacon wrapped shrimp? But what really makes the dish is the chipotle cream sauce the shrimp is served in. It's probably the best sauce I have ever taste it. I would buy this by the gallon and put it on everything if I could.
Christians BBQ Chicken Sandwich - Bossa Nova's Los Angeles, CA
Not much to say other than its a killer BBQ chicken sandwich. I always get the mashed potatoes as the side. Easily the best mashed potatoes I have ever had and they are just regular mashed potatoes.
Blackend Chicken Pizza - Stuft Pizza La Quinta/Palm Desert, CA
The chicken isn't really blackend just "cajun" seasoned but its killer. It is also topped with pepperoni and red onion. The crust is perfect, not to thick and not to thin.
Kabobs and Greek Rice
A family friend gave us her marinade recipe and how she prepared her greek rice. Since then it's been one of my favorite dishes.
Biscuits and Gravy
Killer biscuits and a top notch country gravy is heaven in a bowl. Remember UK friends that in the States a biscuit is closer to corn bread or soda bread that what you would call a biscuit.
Bourbon Chicken and Creole Shrimp n Grits - Dhat Island Redlands, CA
The bourbon glaze is insanely good. The red beans and rice it's served with is a perfect pairing. Also the fried plantains that come as a side add a nice compliment. As for the grits, I haven't had grits much but I have always liked them. The creole shrimp have a great flavor.
Sushi
I could never decide which roll or from where. I have loved sushi since I was probably 10 so it's impossible to peg a favorite.
Jambalaya
I haven't been to the motherland (New Orleans) yet but I love all jambalaya even the boxed crap at the grocery store a NOLA native would have a heart attack if it were served to them.
Cajun Crawfish Crabcakes - The Palace Grill Santa Barbara, CA
Crawfish + Crabcakes = FOODGASM! The Jalapeño Beurre Blanc Sauce they are served with blew my mind when I had it.
Carne Asada - Mariachi's La Quinta, CA
The carne asada is good but what makes this dish for me is the nopales (cactus) that are served with it.
Mexicano Burrito - El Ranchito Palm Desert, CA
Fairly basic. Carne Asada, Guacamole, and cheese (I get it without pico, too much onion) and their house made hot salsa is one of the best I have ever had.
Pineapple Fried Rice and Crab Rangoons - My Thai La Quinta, CA
Best pineapple fried rice I have ever had. Similar to all the others I have had (pineapple, cashews, some curry) but they leave off the raisins which I don't really care for. As for the rangoons they are served with a sauce that kicks them up a notch but the main thing is you actually taste the crab and get chunks of crab!
Alfredo - Clementine Market Palm Desert, CA
I just said Alfredo since you pick your pasta and other things you wanted added in. I usually go with penne and add in the house cured bacon, Spanish corizo, roasted garlic, and chicken. Their Alfredo sauce is so good it has ruined every other place I used to get Alfredo from.
Camarones a la Calafia and Pulpo Al Guajillo Don Julio - Guillermo's Restaurante Palm Desert, CA
I have a pic for this one!
Thats the camarones a la calafia...essentially they make a "steak" out of shrimp and wrap it with bacon, (this one is self explanatory). For those of you that don't know Pulpo is octopus. Call me weird but I love it! Now combine it with guillano chiles, onion, garlic, and tequila. DROOOOL!
A plate of bacon
Yes just a plate with a mound of bacon on it. But it has to be prepared right. Get that limp chewy crap outta my face. It needs to be crispy damn it!!! I highly recommend the black forest bacon at Trader Joe's.
Queso Fundido
Baked cheese (preferably Oaxaca cheese) with chorizo on top served with tortillas. How could you not love gooey cheese to eat in a tortilla!?
to end the meal...
Cheesecake!
A top notch cheesecake is probably my favorite dessert ever. Nothing angers me more then bad cheesecake. It is so unnecessary and completely avoid able. I don't have a favorite kind, but I know Pumpkin cheesecake and the White Chocolate Macadamia cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory are not for me.
or
Raspberry Chocolate Mousse Cake - Clementine Market
This was an instant favorite from the first bite. (my girlfriend says this is the ultimate ladies days dessert haha).
Throw that all together and you have my ultimate food coma. In fact it would probably kill me. Probably a better way to go than whatever made me have a last meal. I will most likely think of other things later and will kick myself that I didn't think of them earlier.
And now I am super bummed that I am currently not eating any of these things. If you have read this far you probably hate me too. It's ok we can work out our feelings over a meal, preferably one of these things.
