OK, for the next two weeks I am going to relax, or as much as I can without taking time off from work. I'm putting my business on the back burner and I refuse to think about it for a while. Today was my day off and I am proud to say I have done very little. I did s bit of work on the bezel for my car's stereo and the one for the gearshift. It didn't turn out very well but it's an easy fix, just need to sand them back down and repaint them. I also did a bit of design work. I am in the design stages of building a MAME cabinet and finely decided on a theme for it. In the late 80's there was a role playing game called Teenagers from Outer Space and I thought it was perfect for the cabinet design. I ripped of the design from the title logo for 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High' and viola! And yes, you're right, I am an old school geek. And just for the record, I don't play D&D. It was an ok game in the early to mid 80's but since Wizards of the Coast bought out TSR and got their grubby little hands on it, its fucking ridiculous. I don't care to play a game I need a doctorate to understand. I also think that the idea of the d20 system comes strait from Satan's workshop. The only thing it's done to the modern RPG world is water it down and it's one of the myriad of reasons I don't play anymore. But I digress, now back to the geekness already in progress
Here's the logo:
Now that I have the basic design idea and I've already picked out the cabinet style I'm going to take a week or so off work this summer and put the cabinet together. One think I do have to remember is to put in the coin door or at least plug the hole for it until I get the door or my cat is going to turn it into his new house. Little bastard.
