696 is frightening during rush hour! I've driven that stretch during rush hour infrequently and it seems like I always convince myself it's not as scary as I think it is afterwards... but it's like every traffic law and everything you learned in driver's training does not apply on this specific stretch of highway!
I think I better make sure I have gap insurance just in case....
aside from that, all I do is read all day. and if you work on the east side and would like to meet me for lunch one day, I take lunch from 12-1 every day... so call me! I can't read forever!

I had to take 696 during rush hour on my second day in this state--with my mother riding shotgun. That was an experience.
While the traffic hasn't gotten any better in a decade, my offensive driving skills have. I like to think that's an improvement.

I drive that every day. I live on the east side.
