OK, so an update:
- I am changing my major, again. I'm no longer going to study music at UNT because, long story short, upon closer inspection it's not really what I want to do.
- I am considering majoring in Biology with a minor in English, maybe, or a social science. I'd like to go into
Environmental Studies.
- I am keeping busy and making new friends in two clubs I joined: NTEEC (North Texas Energy and Environment Club) and FMLA (feminist Majority Leadership Alliance).
- The FMLA puts on a production of The Vagina Monologues each February, and I am going to audition at the end of this month!
- My student loan check came in FINALLY, so I don't have to freak out about paying for all of my commuting expenses out of pocket - and I finally bought a carbon offset for my car. It doesn't beat not driving 350 miles per week, but it's easier on my conscience.
- I am planning to go to Ecuador and volunteer this summer. I'm working on raising enough money to do it, but I really feel like it's time for me to experience another country.
......................................................................................................
I wish I could update more often and be more active on SG...this is a weird transitional period for me and I am still getting used to prioritizing - something I've never really tried before. Once I get in the groove of studying and putting all of my school activities in order, I'll find out how to make this all work.
Until then though... I miss being active on SG and I do feel like I've lost the sense of community I felt here. I kind of died out around early summer but I'm not gone. I swear.
