in what i hope is not a portent for the coming year this mornings charging of the ipod revealed to me the full glory of 148 tunes in the system. 
followed by some elaborate cursing
Still not quite sure what went on but something to do with a corrupt library file and some other shenanigans. Fortunately the library itself was still intact even if nothign could see it or read it.
It took all day but at last i have things sorted out without the prospect of ripping god knows how many CDs which now reside in various suitcases in the cellar, one way to cure a hangover i suppose.
Well that was quite dull for a New Year's update but there you go and i also used the word Shenanigans again, it's like a pet.
