So I'm winding down a road trip with a friend of mine that has taken us from Texas to California and back again. There's something about the beauty of nature that is awe inspiring. Most of us spend too much time in the city, being part of the rat race. I have not turned on a television in almost two weeks, although I have been on the computer a bit. I can't say that I miss TV. I really don't. I'm sure I'll turn it on again as soon as I get home, but for now, I don't miss it at all.
I saw the Grand Canyon for the first time on this trip. It honestly almost brought me to tears. There's nothing that we can create as humans that will ever match the beauty of nature. I saw the Saguaro National Park, again it was amazing. The Pacific Coast Highway was not new to me, but the beaches and shores are always inspiring, as is the ocean. The desert in Arizona and the plains of New Mexico, both beautiful in their own way, stretching for miles.
As I get back into the rat race again, I really hope that I'll remember to take the time to get out of the city more often, and stay connected to nature.
