A long time between posts.

One thing I love doing is riding my mountain bike. Here are a couple of pictures from last week's ride on Sydney's lovely northern beaches.

This was my birthday present, which I have finally (and successfully) connected to my amplifier.

Any suggestions as to what I should be listening to?

It has been ages since I have posted on here, but it is now snowing in the mountains in Australia. I'll be there in just over a week. Worth a cheer.

I'm impressed already and it won't surprise me if it looks even better later on. I've heard from others that houses aren't cheap so your revelation is disappointing since I was secretly hoping it's just an unsubstantiated rumor. (You can see I don't keep up.) Anyway, vicarious ownership is nice too, so do keep us informed. smile

I am way overdue to update you, my loyal readers (ha!).

My summer this year involved...winter. Ten days of powdery awesomeness skiing in Niseko, Japan. It seems to have become the favourite place for Aussies to hang at this time of year, but even the presence of my uncouth countrymen could not detract from the great time that was had.

Words cannot describe just how...

When the person you love not only doesn't want to go where you want to go, but also doesn't much see the...

I really enjoyed your comment on my journal, nicely put. I don't understand very much about mathematics but I have lots of mathematicians in my family and I'm fascinated by it nonetheless. Did you work out the answer to your journal yet?
jozsef:
Well, the expert opinion to which I subscribe says that when you find someone 90% perfect for you, that's as good as it tends to get, so you have to decide if you have made a mistake and of what magnitude. Of course there are no pre-defined criteria for this evaluation, but people are remarkably consistent in their ability to rate the suitability of their companions or objects of affection or lust on this subjective scale.

It does sound from the way you put it like it's a deal breaker. As I see it, there are occasionally going to be people coming along whom we can legitimately love, but only a few will be suitable life partners, while the others may become treasured friends. Thank goodness we only need to find one of the former. smile

BTW, my blog refers in passing to how I dealt with such a realization.

What if I held a blog and nobody came?

The answer is clear from personal experience. Not much.

Hello!

This is a prefabricated message (definitely copy pasted) to say thank you for leaving a comment on my new set. I would totally write you something sweet and personal but unfortunately I have laundry to do and dogs to feed... and....

Yeah, ok. I'm just lazy

Thank You!
