24 Days until Serenity is released.
Okay DragonCon was a blast. There are several reasons for this. The first and absolutely coolest by far was that I won a breakfast with Jewel Staite (who plays Kaylee in Firefly show), her husband Matt Anderson, and Peter David. I took my friend Missy with me (after calling to make several friends who live out of state jealous). The raffle that I won was held was for the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF).
Right after they announced the winner Peter approached me and said, "thank God your normal." I didn't take offence at this as a large number of the people who were there for the raffle were fairly scary. All involved in the breakfast had a nice time. After it was over Matt invited me to join them for drinks and dinner later that evening (it was his birthday so they were wanting to go out and celebrate). By the time that dinner rolled around Jewel had requested that the two of them instead have a nice quiet dinner alone. This was completely understandable as she had just spent the majority of the weekend bombarded by fans. I was however invited to a party that was being held later that night.
The party was a little strange at first. I didn't know anyone that was there, but being the person that I am it didn't take me too long to find a couple of people to talk to. Not long after I got there Matt, Jewel, and Peter showed up with Morena Baccarin and Ron Glass two of Jewel's fellow cast members from Firefly. Drinks flowed freely and much fun was had by all.
The night ended too quickly for me, but I had to work on Monday so I said my goodbyes and headed out for home. My head hit the pillow and was out almost immediately. I woke up in enough time to grab a shower and head in. Work sucked as usual, but I barely noticed since I was still floating from the fun I had at DragonCon.
PS. Cough is still persisting. Going to see the doctor again this week. Hopefully they will actually examine me and try to figure out what is wrong instead of simply shoving pills into my hands and throwing me out the door.
