Genre: Turn Based, Strategy, RPG, Organised Crime, Prohibition Era
I am currently playing Empire of Sin. I got a pre-owned copy for 35 bucks from EB Games, or I could have bought the digital version for 105 bucks, but since this game got abandoned unfortunately due to poor sales and an impatient publisher, I got a bargain physical instead. The game is a bit janky, with odd triggers with animations and some bugs. A 7/10 game could have used more time to iron it out, but with its janky charm, it’s just playable. Since I was younger, I have always been fascinated by the organised crime side of life, and naturally, on my first playthrough, I am playing as the infamous Al Capone.
About the game
In the game, the player takes the role of one of several mob bossesinspired by real-life figures in Chicago during the Prohibition era. The player, acting through their boss character, must decide and direct the actions of their underlings to take over rival businesses such as clubs and brothels, recruit new members to their cause, and defend their empire against other bosses and the law in a bid to take complete control of Chicago's underworld.
