I'm feeling a volcanic burst of emotions, a few servings of physical pain and a rush of anticipation. This week is going to be huge. This past weekend was hectic. I'm doing so much living this week, and it feels great to be alive.
This past weekend included a shopping spree that included 5 stores and 6 hours. It included a viewing of Batman Begins in an empty theater (I LOVED that movie by the way). It included my softball season debut playing second base and collecting my first 2 hits (I'm batting .500 for the season), going out to eat dinner, going out for ice cream, and laundry. Well everything can't be glamorous.
This shortened work week began with work earlier today and full court basketball earlier this evening. Physically I feel great and bad at the same time. I feel great because of all the activity and sweat (I love to sweat), but it's had it's share of negativity in that I rolled both my ankles within the last week, and my chronically sore right knee seems to be getting worse. As a matter of fact I recently finished icing that sucker down for 20 minutes in my training room.
Tomorrow will be more of the same: work and then the gym, and Wednesday will be a 10 or 11 hour work day and then I'm free. When I leave work Wednesday evening the next 132 or so hours will be mine... mine! muhahahahahaha.
I'm taking a mini-vacation from Thursday through Monday as a good friend comes to town from San Francisco and its party time. It's BBQ, the legendary band The Animals live for free at Thursday in the Square, more softball and the crown jewel of my week: camping.
I'm going to a location that is pretty remote. You have to hike about 45 minutes just to reach the site. It's going to be me and at least 4 of my closest friends in the middle of all that natural beauty. We'll be alone with our thoughts, memories and silliness. I look forward to the quiet and camaraderie. I look forward to the night sky, the fire and forthcoming thoughts an environment such as that will bring.
Life is pretty good right now; I hope I can keep the volume up.
