Well hello all, I've come to babble in an interesting way about random things. Now doesn't that sound appealing?
The good, the bad, and my tummy: (cue music)
THE GOOD:
-The weather has greatly improved suddenly. It's gone from I hope we can break the freezing point, to hey it's over 50 again today in less than a week. I broke out the Schwinn and rode to and from work today. This was difficult for 3 reasons: 1- haven't rode in a while (6 months) so my butt and umm let's say "my boys" were not very comfortable getting reacquainted with my seat. 2-The way to work is mostly uphill, and 3- My back tire was half flat. These factors made the ride in difficult, but for the ride home I put air in the back tire and flew back to where I dwell with great ease. Also my boys report no ill effects from the return trip, thanks for your concern.
-ALSO GOOD: Many of my favorite musical artists are coming out with/have come out with new records. Beck's new record dropped yesterday. Ben Folds and Emiliana Torrini come out within a month, and I'm gonna be back on the radio in 3 and a half weeks. I think I'll be getting a 2 or 3 hour shift, but I just know I'll bring enough music for a weekend of air time. By the way if you don't know who Emiliana Torrini is, she is from Iceland and is often compared to Bjork as you could imagine. The difference is that Bjork seems like more of an artist while Emiliana is more of a gypsy. Her music is a little more traditional and poppier than Bjork, but her voice is just about as cute and fun to listen to.
-Also GOOD, I had my launchcast player on at work this evening (worked a long 11 hour shift) and I put on the Martini Lounge station. Wow, how cool was it? Well, I'll tell you. They had Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Etta James, Billie Holiday, Diana Krall, Eartha Kitt and Bebel Gilberto in one half hour alone. The sweet sounds made me long for a pina colada, a straw and a comfy chair to sit and ponder life in.
THE BAD:
-I'd say about 90% of the time I almost get hit by a car, I look over to see someone on a cell phone. As a fellow multitasker, I can appreciate trying to achieve maximum efficiency, but driving is a major task. To me that's like playing video games and having sex at the same time. Either you won't be happy with your game or your partner won't be happy with you, but either way one of the games is about to be over, maybe both... yes there are no winners here. So I'm against cell phones on the road, especially on the city streets... too much can happen that is out of your control and that you have to react to... and yes I almost got hit again today by someone chatting on the phone who didn't see me til the last possible second.
-Also BAD, this thought troubles me: Why do we drive on parkways and park in driveways? I've seen many old people barrel out of their driveways and then drive like snails on the streets. Perhaps they are not so easily fooled. Between all that and the term near-miss, I think my mind's had enough of this non-sense in our language.
AND MY TUMMY:
My tummy hurts from bad chicken. I mean this chicken was BAD... leather jacket, cigs rolled up in the shoulder of the t-shirt, scars on its' beak, dirty jeans, feathers greased back, you know BAD! Anyway my tummy aches a bit so I'll cut this tomfoolery shorter than I wanted. Anyone know a good tummyache remedy?

Sorry I made you feel bad, talking about it, though... But maybe it's good to feel bad once in a while, 'cause it keeps you from doing things like that anymore and feeling worse later.
My worst thing? Coming waaaay too close to having an affair with a married man...
Sorry you fell prey to one of those bad-ass chickens roaming our streets these days.
