I give you a quote from someone I have been interested in lately, Ralph Waldo Emerson:
"A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesman and philosophers and divines. With consistency a great soul has simply nothing to do."
I'm going to make a more concerned effort to try new things each day, even if it's 1 new thing each day. It could be significant (like drinking tea for the first time in over 10 years), or minor (listening to a different online station at work for a spell), but I want to approach each new day with a child's mind. That is, curious and naive. I want to be enriched and energized with new challenges, experiences, ideas and dreams. Monday it began with reading Emerson, Tuesday it continued with joining a basketball league for the first time, Wednesday I took an very rare nap in the evening, and Thursday...
who knows?
It may be big, it may be small, it may even be silly, but it will be something. What do you have to look forward to tomorrow? You have more power than you think.
I'll leave you as I found you, with another quote from Emerson:
"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."
Hope everyone is doing well and has a great day!
