dreaming and coughing (5-13)
I had a dream I had a wife. It wasn't just any wife mind you but an honest to goodness, down to earth, red hot sitcom wife. What's a sitcom wife you ask? Well she was really smart, beautiful, a neurotic, stabilizing force, willing to put up with my silly ass and way out of my league. I hardly watch sitcoms but I grew up on them. Almost every silly, dopey, chubby, charming sitcom husband has a wonderful woman that leans on him and vice versa. The wife worries too much, has to put up with the husbands' ridiculous antics, and turns out to be way more down to earth than a beautiful woman often is.
Look at half the sitcoms on television today and you'll see what I mean. In some ways that's what I strive to be. I just want to be someone's dope, their rock, and their world. What a wonderful thing that must be; to be a sitcom husband. He sits around after work and watches television, gets himself into these little troubles and messes around the house and makes it all better just in time for bed. I'm still holding out for my Leah Remini, Jami Gertz, Courtney Thorne Smith, Patricia Heaton or any other sitcom goddess to pick me up for a season or two or twenty. Well, I can dream can I?
In the really real world, I'm still under the weather. On Tuesday night I began to move things around and prepare to pack. Unfortunately I didn't throw on a mask to keep the dust at bay and it has since messed up my system pretty good. My sinuses have been troublesome and I have a heavy phlegm build up. So basically I have given myself a pretty nasty cold. At least I hope that's all it is. I was feeling a little better yesterday but I had a football game today and I played despite feeling a little weak and lethargic and now I feel a little worn down and worse for wear plus my nose still isn't working right. I hate being sick in the Spring, especially so close to summer.
In other news, I start my softball leagues in a week. I'm playing in 2 leagues, one on Sunday and one on Tuesday. Football will continue on Saturday for a few more weeks and then I'm starting in a volleyball league on Friday nights very soon. So it's shaping up to be a typical summer for me lots of outdoor sports and sweat and I need it.
Still trying to figure out this moving thing- I have 3 weeks before I have to be out. Things are going to get crazy soon.
